Regulatory Affairs

Our Regulatory Affairs department is the primary communications link between UPI and agencies such as the FDA, Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Trade Commission, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), and Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). We have a thorough working knowledge of the complex set of regulations within which the FDA operates, 21 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations.)

As a full service chemical distributor and packager, we are responsible for keeping up with the increasing scope of complexity of regulations both in the United States and abroad. We continually strive to comply with the regulatory and compliance requirements in the markets and business areas in which UPI operates. For example our team shares cross-industry (personal care, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and chemical) best practices for safety, health & environment, quality assurance and registrations in compliance with standards such as REACH. (The European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use.)
