Function

Selective solvent for production of high-grade lubricating oils, intermediate & cross-linker in organic synthesis. Reagent for organic synthesis; wetting and penetrating compound; spotting and dry cleaning scavenge lead deposits in gasoline. It is also used in the manufacture of medicinal and pharmaceutical oil solution sprayed on corn silks to control earworms.

Storage

Should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in tightly sealed containers. Containers of dichloroethyl ether should be protected from physical damage and light, heat sparks, and open flames, and should be stored separately from strong oxidizers.
