Function

In cosmetics applications, the low viscosity of dimethicone makes the ingredient an extremely good spreading agent, which creates a non-tacky moisture barrier in skin creams and lotions. This fluid can also eliminate the whitening or -soaping- effect seen in W/O emulsions. Soluble in alcohols.
